Ideas Don’t Belong in Notes Apps

For the past few weeks, I’ve been trying to build a website into something that looked neat on paper – a marketing consultant.

It makes sense, right? I’ve spent years growing brands like Swap Top, Shout It Events, The Urban Avenue. And people have been telling me I should “help others do the same” (which I already do). Even a friend of mine recently said, “You should be working with other brands.”

So I started. I bought a domain. I picked a template. I even started writing a “Who I Work With” section. And then, somewhere between designing the Services page and listing out packages, I wanted to vomit.

It just didn’t feel right.

I wasn’t excited about positioning myself as “a consultant.” I was already doing that naturally in conversations, in texts and slack groups with founders who actually cared. What I really wanted was freedom to build things. To share ideas and test them. To put more of my brain out into the world and see what comes of it.

So here we are.

chaseheckendorn.com isn’t a portfolio. It’s not a consulting site. It’s a living archive – a creative playground where I can take ideas out of my head and make them real. One week it might be marketing content, the next a t-shirt concept or physical product prototype. The week after, a new challenge (like the Naked Running Challenge idea that won’t leave my brain). Not that kind of naked… more on this soon.

It’s a place for me to build without overthinking, to learn in public, and to share whatever’s next. Whether it flops, takes off, or just sparks something cool.

Just like a favorite podcast, I want to attract like-minded founders, brands and creatives to reach out. Contact me if you ever come across anything you want to pursue or sponsor!
