The Naked Running Challenge
30 Days. At Least 1 Mile a Day. No GPS. No Music. No Excuses.
I know what you’re thinking… and the answer is: no, not that kind of naked. But equally as freeing – and maybe even more interesting (or at least I hope).
I’m not anti-tracking. I love Strava, Garmin, etc. as much as the next guy. But like anything, I end up overly focused on data and details. Sometimes it helps to hit reset, get back to the basics, and rediscover what it feels like to actually run.
Think of this like taking a 30-day break from alcohol or social media. The goal is simple: create a deeper connection with running. Focus on breathing, form, thinking, taking in your surroundings, and sharing naked runs with friends 😉.
That’s what the Naked Running Challenge is about. A 30-day reset for runners who want to reconnect with why they started running in the first place: to move, to think, to just run.
The Rules
1. Run at least 1 mile every day for 30 days.
No exceptions. Rain, shine, tired, busy – at least one mile. That’s the commitment.
2. No GPS tracking.
No Strava, no Garmin, no pace or distance data.
You can wear a time-only watch if you want to keep track of minutes, but that’s it.
3. No music, no headphones, no phones.
This is a fully raw run – no distractions, no playlists, no mid-run texts.
It’s fine to carry your phone for safety, just don’t use it for any of the above.
4. Chip-timed races are allowed.
If you’ve got a real race on the calendar, that’s fine. Otherwise, stay unplugged.
5. Be honest.
This challenge is built on integrity. No one’s tracking you, and that’s the point.
The Reward
Complete the challenge and earn the right to wear one of these sweet T-shirts. Because sometimes we all need a little extra motivation to finish what we start.

“I RUN NAKED” T-Shirt @ The DRC 10K on Nov 2nd
Front: “I RUN NAKED”
Back: “Naked Run November 2025 Finisher – Proof: My Strava feed is empty. No GPS. No Music. Just vibes. 30 Days. 1+ Mile a Day.”

To claim your shirt, you’ll need to join the challenge (details below). Once the challenge wraps up, a link to order will be shared with everyone who completes it.
Yes, this is the only running challenge where your empty Strava feed is the badge of honor.
Why?
Because it’s important to reconnect with how you feel.
Some days you’ll feel great (fast, strong, effortless) and you’ll wish you tracked it.
Other days, you’ll be sluggish, tired, or just grinding to get through a mile – and you’ll be glad you didn’t.
The point is simple: Do it for yourself, your mind & the love of running. Reconnect with how your body feels. Push the limits when you can, pull back when you need to, and when you fire Strava back up on December 1st, you might notice something different.
Is your heart rate lower?
Are you running faster and it doesn’t even feel like it?
Has your form improved?
Do you actually enjoy running without music now?
It’s more than a challenge – it’s a personal experiment.
How to Join
Joining is easy – and yes, we’re doing the most ironic thing ever: there’s a Strava group for a challenge that bans Strava.
Here’s how to get started:
1. Join the official Strava club:
👉 Join the “Naked Run November” Strava Group
This is where we’ll post updates, share stories, and (most importantly) celebrate our blank GPS screenshots at the end of the month.
2. Official Kickoff – November 1st, 2025
Since this is our first year, we’re kicking things off together on November 1st, 2025 – the day runners around the world will go all-in on the very first Naked Run November.
That’s it for now! I’ll share more updates on Strava as November 1st approaches. Feel free to pass the link along to anyone who might be interested – the more, the merrier!
